Welsh Onion

This clump-forming hardy perennial bulb has hollow tub-like foliage. Yellow-white, globe like flower heads are produced in early summer. Welsh onions are suitable for growing in any fertile, free draining soil which has a full sun position.  They are popular in Chinese cooking, the whole plant can be eaten and has a mild onion taste.  It will grow just as well in a suitable sized container.
